#poisonfreepavements
What a vibrant event we had earlier this month. Approximately 30 of us took to the streets fo Carrington to admire, identify and graffiti chalk (label) our pavement wildflowers. A total of 44 pavement wildflower were identified during our short event. This is incredible. Thank you to all who joined us.
Well what next? Here at wild.NG we aim to connect our communities and improve nature where we live and so we are heading up our campaign for #poisonfreepavements and sending an open letter to Nottingham City Council, together with a short film of our event and recommendations. There are alternatives to using herbicides on our streets and so lets encourage our council to make changes which are healthier for our wildlife and healthier for our community.
You can also individually contact your council to ask them not to spray your street our where you live.
Our event has provided some wonderful imagery and impact to kick start our campaign and our aim is to inspire positive change, so lets make this happen and hopefully by next year there will be less poison sprayed on our streets.
Thanks to everyone who took part in our event. We are humbled and inspired by our communities passion and interest.
