Wednesday 1st May, 6.00-7.30pm
Ecoworks Community Garden
Free. Please book here.
Join us for a relaxed event to get more familiar with the remarkable Hawthorn (aka May Tree). We will meet on the evening of Mayday / Beltane to share stories about this familiar shrub - including its value to wildlife, folklore, and human uses such as food and medicine. We’ll taste hawthorn products together, and have a go at some hands-on activities.
This event is part of Wild.NG’s "Meet the Neighbours" series. Each one focuses on really getting to know one of our more-than-human neighbours in the city, taking a deep dive into its history, ecology, folklore and uses.
Kindly hosted at Ecoworks Community Garden in St.Ann’s.
All welcome; suitable for adults and accompanied children.
This event is free and led by volunteers. Donations (to Wild.NG and Ecoworks) are very welcome.
Please book via this link, and we’ll send further details and a phone number for access.
Meeting Place: St Ann’s Allotment Visitor Centre gate, 121 Ransom Road, NG3 3LH. We will meet people on the day and walk up to Ecoworks from the road gate.
Accessibility : The garden doesn’t have level access, so unfortunately it is unsuitable for wheelchairs. If you have any questions about access please let us know when you book.
