Meet the neighbours: Linden Trees

Join us for the first "Meet the Neighbours" event - led by local artists and plant enthusiast Becky Beinart, with input from Nottingham City Tree Officer and local resident Alex Begg. You will be getting to know our more-than-human neighbours in the city and and taking a deep dive into their histories, ecology, folklore and uses.

For this midsummer walk, we'll be getting to know the Linden tree - also know as Lime (not the citrus!) or Tilia. This beautiful tree, planted on many Nottingham streets, supports wildlife and humans, and produces clusters of sweet smelling flowers in the summer.

Taking a gentle walk up Elm Avenue, we'll take time to observe the Linden trees there and share stories - on topics including city planning, pollinators, and traditional medicine - and taste linden-blossom tea.

All welcome, suitable for adults and older children.

This event is free and led by volunteers. If you wish to donate a contribution we welcome you to visit our website. Suggested donation £3.

Book early to avoid disappointment! Please meet us at 6pm at the bottom of Elm Avenue, just off Huntingdon Street. Please note Elm Avenue is steep, but has a paved path all the way. Let us know if you have any access needs.
